Nurturing the Next Generation: Morgan Groshner, 2025 Healthcare Scholarship Recipient

On a clear Adirondack morning, you might find Morgan Groshner of Lake Placid hiking one of her favorite trails, taking in the mountain air and thinking about the future. For Morgan, those roots in the Adirondacks run deep—and so does her commitment to serving the community she calls home.

Her journey toward healthcare began unexpectedly.

“One day I drove past the hospital and decided that Adirondack Health was the place I wanted to work,” Morgan recalls. That simple moment of inspiration has since guided her education and her work.

Today, Morgan balances working per diem at Adirondack Health with a part-time position in a SUNY clinical laboratory, gaining valuable hands-on experience. This fall, she will begin her studies in Medical Technology at SUNY Plattsburgh, taking the next big step toward a career in laboratory medicine.

Recognizing her dedication and promise, the Adirondack Health Foundation awarded Morgan the 2025 Healthcare Scholarship. The $3,500 award will help cover tuition and ease the path forward, but it also represents something bigger: a community investing in its own future.

“After graduation, I plan to work at Adirondack Health in the clinical laboratory,” Morgan said. “It feels good to know I’ll be able to give back to the community that raised me.”

Through students like Morgan, the Foundation’s Healthcare Scholarship Program ensures that high-quality healthcare remains accessible right here in the Adirondacks.

At the Adirondack Health Foundation, we believe Together for Good is more than just words—it’s a promise. Together, we are investing in education and training to grow the next generation of healthcare professionals—and keep exceptional care close to home.

Morgan’s story is a powerful reminder: when we invest in local talent, we invest in the health and strength of our entire community.
