Adirondack Health will host its annual Jingle Bell Fun Run/Walk on Saturday, Dec. 12, as part of the Lake Placid Holiday Village Stroll.

This festive, family-friendly event features an untimed 2.5-mile run/walk around beautiful Mirror Lake, beginning and ending at the Lake Placid Public Beach. Participants of all ages and abilities are encouraged to dress in their holiday best, from Santa hats and jingle bells to creative costumes.

Adding to the holiday magic, Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus will make a special appearance, spreading cheer and celebrating with participants.

“The Jingle Bell Run is a wonderful way to bring our community together and kick off the holiday season,” said Adirondack Health Foundation Special Events Coordinator Mary McLean. “It's not about how fast you finish, but about having fun, making memories, and sharing the joy of the season. We're especially excited to welcome Santa and Mrs. Claus this year!”

Participants are encouraged to bring a new or gently used book in excellent condition to support Adirondack Health's Patient Comfort Cart, which provides adult patients with books to enjoy during their hospital stay. Donations of mysteries, romances, biographies, inspirational books, and other favorite reads are welcome.

Event details:

  • Saturday, Dec. 12: Registration and check-in, 7–8 a.m., Lake Placid Beach House.
  • Fun Run/Walk: 8:30 a.m. sharp.
  • Advance registration: $20 through Dec. 11.
  • Day-of registration: $25.
  • Children 12 and under: FREE. All participants must register regardless of age.

The first 100 participants will receive a free Holiday Village Stroll hat. Please note that four-legged friends are not permitted.
