Administrative & Office Support Volunteer Roles

Position Summary:

The Administrative & Office Support Volunteer provides essential clerical and organizational assistance to support the daily operations of Adirondack Health. Working under the supervision of department lead, this volunteer helps ensure efficient workflow by assisting with data entry, filing, mailings, phone support, special projects, and other administrative tasks as assigned.

 

This role requires professionalism, attention to detail, and strict adherence to confidentiality standards, including HIPAA compliance. The Administrative Volunteer plays an important behind-the-scenes role in strengthening patient care and organizational effectiveness by supporting staff in a dependable, respectful, and mission-focused manner.

 

  1. Clerical Support: Filing, scanning, assembling packets, and assisting with departmental projects.
  2. Check-In Assistance: Support busy clinics during peak hours with patient flow and paperwork.


Educational Requirements/ Qualifications:

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office, email, data entry)
  • Ability to follow established procedures and manage tasks independently
  • Professional communication skills and a respectful demeanor
  • Professional phone etiquette
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with hospital policies

Workplace Environmental Conditions/Hazards:

Modern, clean, well-lighted, ventilated and heated hospital. This position is on-site at Adirondack Health facilities. Must be comfortable working in a patient-facing clinical environment
