Grounds & Seasonal Beautification Volunteer Roles
Position Summary:
At Adirondack Health, we believe healing environments extend beyond the walls of our facilities. Our Grounds & Seasonal Beautification Volunteers help create welcoming outdoor and indoor spaces that reflect the natural beauty, warmth, and spirit of the Adirondack community. Through gardening, seasonal decorating, and beautification efforts, volunteers play an important role in enhancing the experience of patients, visitors, staff, and community members.
Spring, Summer & Fall Duties
- Assist with planting and maintaining flowers, garden beds, and planters
- Water flowers and outdoor landscaping as needed
- Help remove weeds and maintain clean outdoor spaces
- Support seasonal beautification projects around entrances and common areas
- Assist with light outdoor clean-up of patios, benches, and walking areas
- Report any safety concerns or maintenance issues to staff
Winter Duties
- Assist with indoor seasonal decorating and beautification
- Help maintain indoor plant displays and common area décor
- Support holiday decorating and seasonal transitions
- Assist with organizing decorative materials and supplies
- Participate in special hospitality or seasonal comfort projects as needed
Educational Requirements/ Qualifications:
- Enjoyment of gardening, landscaping, decorating, or outdoor work
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Friendly, dependable, and community-minded
- Comfortable working outdoors during warmer seasons
- Ability to perform light physical activity including bending, lifting light materials, and standing for periods of time

Volunteer Coordinator, Adirondack Health
Contacts:
Patients, Families, Employees, Medical Staff and Management.
Workplace Environmental Conditions/Hazards:
Modern, clean, well-lighted, ventilated and heated hospital. This position is on-site at Adirondack Health facilities. Must be comfortable working in a patient-facing clinical environment
