Volunteer Process

Complete the Volunteer Application
Initial phone interview with Volunteer Services
If there is a potential match, participate in an in-person interview
Meet with the department lead for placement consideration
Complete a background check
Submit required health forms and documentation
Complete online volunteer orientation
Attend in-person orientation and department-specific training

Volunteer Requirements

Adult volunteers must be 18 years of age or older
Teen Volunteers must be at least 15 years of age with parent or guardian consent
Day Shadowing participants must be at least 15 years of age with parent or guardian consent
Adult volunteers are encouraged to maintain a regular and dependable volunteer schedule, typically one shift per week or a minimum of 8 hours per month.
Volunteers are expected to follow the Volunteer Handbook, dress code, confidentiality, and organizational policies
Volunteer vest and Adirondack Health volunteer badge must be worn while volunteering
