Apply for Support
Merrill Oncology Travel Fund
The Merrill Oncology Travel Fund helps ease the burden of getting to and from cancer treatments for patients in the Tri-Lakes region. Launched in partnership with the Scott Hamilton Cares Foundation, the fund provides up to $2,000 each year to cover travel costs like mileage, lodging, meals, and more for patients and a companion. It’s designed to make sure that travel expenses don’t stand in the way of receiving the care you need. Patients simply apply, submit their travel receipts, and reimbursed if approved.

Healthcare Scholarship
Each year, the Adirondack Health Foundation awards three $3,500 scholarships to students committed to pursuing degrees in nursing or allied health. If you keep a 3.0 GPA or above, there’s even a chance at continued funding in the second year. Eligible applicants include current Adirondack Health employees; their immediate family members or retirees; high school seniors headed into healthcare; and non-traditional students returning to school. The application is due June 15, and you’ll need to fill out a form and mail it to the Foundation Scholarship Committee in Saranac Lake.

Mini-Grant Program
The Foundation offers up to $5,000 to support Adirondack Health staff-led proposals that help enrich the workforce, improve patient access, or upgrade operations and infrastructure across Adirondack Health. If you have an idea that could make things better—whether for staff, patients, or the system—this grant is meant to help bring it to life. There’s a downloadable application and if it qualifies you’ll present your proposal to the Mini-Grant sub-committee of the Adirondack Health Foundation Board.
